Privacy Policy

Chess Narrator ("we", "us", "the Service") is a tool that creates narrated chess highlight videos and puzzle shorts and, at your direction, publishes them to your connected social accounts (such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok). This policy explains what information we handle and why. Chess Narrator is an operator tool used by our own team to manage our channels; it is not a consumer sign-up product.

1. Information we collect

• Connected-account credentials. When you connect a platform (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) through its official OAuth flow, we receive and store access and refresh tokens, and a basic account identifier (e.g. channel ID, account ID, open ID, or username). We never receive or store your platform password.
• Content you create. The chess games, generated scripts, audio, thumbnails and rendered videos produced within the Service, and the URLs of posts we publish on your behalf.
• Operational data. Basic logs and usage/cost records needed to run and monitor the Service.

We do not collect personal information from viewers of the videos we publish, and we do not run advertising or tracking on third parties.

2. How we use information

• To generate and render chess videos and shorts.
• To publish, update, or remove content on the social accounts you have connected, at your request or on a schedule you configure.
• To display connection status, publish history, and operating costs in the admin interface.
• To maintain the security and reliability of the Service.

3. How information is shared

We share content only with the platforms you explicitly connect (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) in order to publish it there, in accordance with their APIs and policies. We also rely on service providers strictly to operate the Service:

• AI providers (e.g. OpenAI / Google) to generate scripts, and a text-to-speech provider (ElevenLabs) to generate voiceover.
• Cloud hosting for running the application and storing rendered media.

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.

4. Data retention

We keep connected-account tokens for as long as the account remains connected. You can disconnect a platform at any time, which revokes our stored tokens for it. Generated media and publish records are retained for as long as they are useful for operating the channels, and can be deleted on request.

5. Your choices and rights

• Disconnect: remove a connected platform at any time from the admin panel, or revoke access directly in that platform's settings.
• Deletion: request deletion of stored tokens, generated media, or publish records by contacting us.
• You may also delete any published video directly on the platform where it was posted.

6. Security

Access to the Service is restricted and authenticated. Tokens and credentials are stored in a private database and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold.

7. Third-party platforms

When you connect an account, your use of that platform remains governed by its own terms and privacy policy, including Google/YouTube, Instagram/Meta, and TikTok. We use their APIs only to publish and manage content you direct us to.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
